RUDRAKSHA

In the world of plants, Rudraksha is the most pure, effective, useful and ancient. This is a seed of a fruit. It is, mostly, found in Malaya, India, Indonesia, Burma, Nepal, etc.

Rudraksha is considered to be the eye of Lord Shiva. Rudra means Lord Shiva and Aksha means tear, so it is called Rudraksha.

It is very dear to the devotees of Shiva. Other goods are also worshipped by this mala. In spiritual view, Rudraksha is of tremendous importance. It has great importance, not only in spiritual field, but also in other fields, chiefly, in medical field.

"Rudraksha" is the fruit of a tree, found in the branches. It is very hard and round in shape. It remains attached with its seeds. Althought it is very hard, yet we can soften it up, by keeping it in water for several days and thus, the Rudraksha seeds are taken out.

In Devipurana there are four castes of Rudrakha; Brahmana, Kashtriya, Vaishya and Shudra. This division of rudraksha is not based on its quality, but on the castes of the weares. It is stated in Devi Bagwat Kar in connection with this.

"BRAHMANAH, Kshtriya, Vaishyah, Shurdrashveni, Shivatraya;

Vriksha Jata Prithvyan Tu Tajjateeya Shubhakshka;

Shwetastu Brahmna geyah gytray Raktavarnkah;

Peeta Vaishyastu Visheya Krishnah Shudrah Prakirtitah;

Brahmano Vibhrayachchedivetan Raktan Rajan Tu Dharyate;

Pontan Vaishyastu Vibhrayat Krishan Shudrastu Daryate."

The above mentioned rules of wearing Rudraksha of different colours by different persons are not compulsory.

Rudraksha is dyed into red or chrry colurs from its natural skin colour, that is considered to be sign of a monk. Red or cherry colour is good for all the people. The persons belonging to any age, caste, or creed can use Rudraksha of any shape, colour and face, according to one’s taste. This fact is stated in Devi Bhagavant kar.

"Brahmano Vapi Chandalon Nirgunh saguno Viva, Rudraksh Dharanadev sa Rudro Natrah Sashyah".

GOWRI SHANKAR

Gowri Shankar is considered to be the image of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati. One faced and fourteen faced Rudraksha are considered to be the good, but Gowri Shankar is the best. Power of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati resides in it.

Worship it daily, all the sufferings and poverty of a person vanish. One becomes happy and peaceful.

By wearing it in the neck, one get the pleasure of child.

GARBH GAURI RUDRAKSHA : It is the smaller kind of Gowri Shankar. A woman, who suffers with the disease of abortion or does not have a child, can be cured by wearing it.

GANESH RUDRAKSHA: There is a bulge on Lord Ganesh’s nose. It is like the bulge in Lord Ganesh’s nose. It wearer becomes prosperous. The benefits of wearing it are numerous.

THE BENEFIT OF WEARING RUDRAKASH

In Hindu mythology there is no abstinence for the wearer Rudraksha but even then one should not heave wine, meat, etc. As much as possible, one should eat pure food means vegetarian food and should keep pure routine daily. One should try to keep his mind away from bad thoughts and works. Pure thoughts are very helpful for mental peace. Like this if a person wears it, it will be very good for him. Rudraksha is very pious and dear to Lord Shiva. It destroys all the sins, if a person does the jap with it Rudraksha is capable of destroying many sufferings.

THE SHOT SUMMARY OF RUDRAKSHA’S QUALITY AND IMPORTANCE, ACCORDING TO ITS FACE

Quite offen, the importance and quality of the Rudraksha is judged by it faces. According to Hindu mythology, one faced Rudraksha is the symbol of God and Salvation. It is, mostly, worn by Yogis and Saints. Two face dRudraksha is the Symbol of "Ardhnarishwar"-"Lord Shiva and Parvati Manta". It is worn for the happiness of family, peace and successful married life. By wearing it, the mutual understanding between a husband and wife, strengthens.

The Three-faced Rudraksha is good for the students, as it sharpens the brain and memory. Four-faced Rudraksh is good for the solution of mental problems. Five-faced rudraksha is good for heart troubles. Six-face Rudraksha is good for getting rid or sins. Seven-faced Rudraksha should be worn for materialistic possessions and prosperity.

Eight-faced Rudraksha is good for getting rid of troubles. Nine faced for Salvation. Then faced is used for the calmness of planets. Eleven faced should be worn to please Dev Indra and for achieving all the happiness. Twelve-faced Rudraksha is very important for the highly posted government workers. Thirteen-faced Rudraksha is good for scientists and doctors. Fourteen-faced Rudraksha keeps all the diseases away.

After briefly stating the utility of Rudraksha, it becomes important to mention a few important facts. The appropriate method of wearing the Rudraksha cures several diseases like, smallpox, chickenpox, etc. Many experiments have been also done.

ONE-FACED RUDRAKSHA

One-faced Rudraksha is the symbol of the Suprem God. God is one, "Sat Aur Chit", "Ek Meva", "Dwetiya Sadup"-it is the symbol of soul of God Shiva. One face dRudraksha is the best. Although it is very rare, its possession is very fortunate. One, who worships it or wears it, always remain free from all the toroubles and hurdles. It also generates the power of concentration towards Lord Almighty. A person becomes more religious after wearing it. This worldly detachment, draws him/her towards God or Salvation. One turns out to be a devotee of God. "Partatva Dharna Ch Jayte Tat prakashnam."

One faced Rudraksha should be worn by religious people. It may not be good for the materialistic people. It is the best, as it is most near to God. It is found in two shapes-Round and Chandrakar. Round rudraksha is found in Haridwar, Assam and Nepal. And Chandrakar Rudraksha is found in the Jungles of Rameshvaram. There is no difference between the two Rudraksha in view of importance and quality. So it may be of any shape. But it should be real and pure.

HOW TO WEAR

One-faced Rudraksha should be covered with gold or silver cap. It should be kept in the place of worship or should be worn in neck. It should be worn on Monday, chanting the mantra, "OM, HRING NAMAH," "om, namah shivaya". A person should fold his hands in the morning after waking up with mantra. This can relieve him of all his problems.

TWO-FACED RUDRAKSH

Two-faced Rudraksh is the besed with two natural lines. This, easily available, bead is found in round and flat shapes.

It is the symbol of Ardhnarishwar-a joint image of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati. In this image, we see both in one body. This image is effective in the development of the world-getting children and materialistic possessions. The other reward of wearing it is that it brings love and understanding between a husband and wife. One leads a happy married life.

HOW TO WEAR

Cover with a gold r silver, cap with red thread and wear on Monday by touching it with the statue or photo of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati and chant the mantra, "OM, NAMAH", "Shri Gaurishankaraya Namah".

THREE FACED RUDRAKSHA

Three lines are found on three faced Rudraksh. Its effect is seen in a very short time by the wearer in his/her work, the success in his trails, achieving desirable aim and knowledge etc. Its best quality is that if a person wears it at the time of fever than he gets rid of it. Today the doctors have also accepted that by wearing it one gets rid of fever. HOW TO WEAR

Take three, beads of four faced Rudraksha and string it in a red thread, wash with unboiled milk and Ganges water and apply Sandal wood paste on it. Then wear the mala while chanting the mantra, "OM HRING NAMAH".

FIVE-FACED RUDRAKSHA

Five-faced Rudraksha is considered to be the real image of Lord Shiva and it is said that He becomes satisfied when one wears it. A man’s knowledge in this world is only of use if it is clear, and stable. For this kind of knowledge five faced Rudraksha is the best. It is seen that this knowledge disappears, in absence of learned people. Hence, by wearing this Rudraksha spirit of learning revives. As fire purifies every thing, this Rudraksha purifies the mind, heart and all the evil thoughts. It makes a man more human and sensible.

HOW TO WEAR

At least three beads of this Rudraksha should be worn by stringing in red thread and touching it to Lord Shiva. At the time of wearing. One should chant the mantra, "OM NAMAH SHIVAYA", "OM HRING NAMAH", The mala of 109 small beads can also be worn. It is a preventive measure for blood-pressure and heart attack. SIX FACED RUDRAKSHA

Six faced Rudraksha, a symbol of Lord Shiva, "Son of kartikaya". Gives knowledge and intellegence. It protects a person from worldly disputes. Weak students, can be benefited by wearing this six-faced Rudraksha and beads of four faced Rudraksha also have the same benefit.

HOW TO WEAR

Three beads of this Rudraksha should be worn on Wednesday. String it in a red thread and concentrate on Swami Kartikaya and Chant, "OM HRING HUME NAMAH", "SWAMI KARTIKEYA NAMAH".

SEVEN FACED RUDRAKSHA

It is the visible symbol of "Bherav". The pressence of Eight lines on it makes it very effective. Its wearer does not under go any kind of torture of health hazards and divine curses. One bead of eight faced rudraksh should be worn in a red thread in Durga temple on Monday while chanting the mantra. "OM HUMA NAMAH".

NINE FACED RUDRAKSHA

This bead is very effective, as the power of all the nine incarnations of Goddess Durga are accumlated in one place. Though all the Rudrakshas are the symbol of the power of God Shiva, yet this is good specially for the worshipper of the Goddess. Being fulfilled with nine virtunes, it increases self-confidence. It enhances the concentration of mind and creates a firm faith in God.

It also provides the feelings of devotion, salvation and pleasures. Thought both the things, pleasures and salvation are opposite to each other, yet these can be achieved by worshipping Goddess Shri Sundari (Laxmi). ELEVEN FACED RUDRAKSHA

It is considered to be the image of Lord Shiva. It is good and effective for the worshippers of Lord Shiva. Rudra are many, but the eleventh Rudra is Mahavir Bajrang Bali Hanumanji by whose name the evil powers fear and He is intelligent, virtuous and clever. So by wearing it all these qualities come in the person. It makes a person healthy, intelligent and brave. According to one belief, it is also the symbol of Lord Indra. One gets all the pleasures and comforts, by wearing it.

THRITEEN FACED RUDRAKSHA

It is considered to be Lord Indra. He becomes pleased if one wears it. One becomes properous and successful in govt. service and gains honourable position. It fulfills all the desires of a man and gives all the eight powers. Lord Kamdeva becomes pleased and fulfills all the desires and self-interests, like lord Kartikeya. "KARTIKEYA SAMO GAYAH SARVKAMARTH SIDDHIDAH". One becomes a successful scientist by wearing it. It is also good for doctors. They should chant: "Raso Rasayanam chev Tasya Sarva Prasiddhyati".
